C., with the silver denarius in 50 B. C., bronze coins in the 1st century B. C., and copper fals in 731 A. D. The silver dirham was in evidence in the 700s, fol-lowed by the gold dinar, silver square dirham, and gold double dinar in the 12th and 13th centuries. The copper double fals was in use in the 1800s and the cupro-nickel francs in the mid-1900s. Decimal coins were used in 1921. The currency today is the dirham. Key to Grading: Coin Design
