HOW TO USE THIS BOOK This book was written as a guide to the world’s most popular coins. Tolist every coin that was ever minted by every country in the world would fill a book many times this size. We, therefore, have chosen to list the coins that are readily available to the average collector, with prices that would accommodate the largest number of collectors. Considerable effort was expended to consolidate and verify the infor-mation listed. Should you have any questions or corrections, the au-thors would be grateful to hear your comments. Please write to: Blackbooks,P.O. Box 690312, Orlando, FL 32869. The prices listed in this book represent the current collector val-ues at the time of printing. VARIETY—This information usually describes the images that appear on either the obverse (front) or the reverse (back) of the coin. Please note that some varieties of the same denomination may command a higher price than others of the same denomination. METAL—When known, the metallic content of the coin is listed. ABP—This is the average buy price that coin dealers are buying from the public. Readers should understand that the actual prices paid by any given dealer will vary based on the dealer ’s inventory and the market demand in the dealer ’s specific area. Remember that this book is presented merely as a guide. There are two reasons for not listing an ABP price for a particular coin. The first concerns coins that are not made from a precious metal (gold, silver, or platinum). If there is no price listed for this kind 76
